As an RN on the Operating Room (OR) team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00AM - 7:30PM, with 48 hour/six-week-period requirements.A caregiver who excels in this role will: Complete ongoing assessments. Recognize significant changes in patient condition, respond appropriately and develop measurable goals for identified problems. Updates goals for identified problems. Involve the patient/family (or designee) in developing a plan of care individualized to patient cultural, religious and educational needs. Administer patient care, medications and treatments. Participate in on-going interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes and contribute to the improvement of care. Participates in the quality improvement processes. Delegate tasks/assignments to employees. Plan for patient care utilizing both patient specific information and preference sheets and assist in collecting and preparing equipment, instruments, sutures and implants as needed. Act as patient advocate, identifying patient and confirming that surgical site identification has been performed without discrepancy. Ensure surgical specimens are handled correctly by accurate identification. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate on an accredited School of Nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Completion of AGMC and RN orientation programs Operating Room (OR) experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
