The Parkview III Med/Surg Unit provides post-procedure medical support for orthopaedic, spine, low-risk bariatric, urology, vascular, colorectal and general surgeries. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.
A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00PM—7:30AM OR 11:00PM—7:30AM.
A caregiver will work 4 shifts per week. 7p-7a (2 shifts), 11p-7am (2 shifts)
You will work 3 weekend shifts out of 6 week schedule.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Support the Nurse Manager with supervising and supporting RNs and other nursing support caregivers.
Supervise admissions, conduct assessment of patient's needs and initiate nursing care plans.
Evaluate and document patient progress.
Facilitate the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit.
Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
Serve as a liaison between the manager, caregivers and other areas within the organization.
Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.
Prepare schedule of work assignments assuring adequate coverage.
Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives.
Assist in orienting new caregivers.
Participate in continuing education and in-service educational programs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Two years of recent clinical nursing experience in Med/Surg, MICU, or SICU units.
Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills

Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
