Responsibilities:
- Ensures high quality, innovative and functional design to meet the program efficiently and aesthetically in collaboration with the Architects, Healthcare Facility Planners, and Interior Designers.
- Assists in preparation/development of conceptual and schematic design plans, massing and renderings for projects, documenting design stages and detailed design intent, prepares project presentations through hand drawing, physical model-making, and computer aided drawing/design techniques.
- Assists in preparation/development of Cleveland Clinic (CC) design studies, space and design guidelines, post occupancy evaluations, and analytics to advance Cleveland Clinic Design Studio.
- Researches and selects fixtures and finishes for projects; provide detail for interior design projects.
- Assists in assessing facility and space requests by working with support departments to determine space, functional needs, equipment, and utility requirements in preparing design solutions for development. Areas of focus, include space planning and design development for clinical, administrative, research and support areas.
- Assist in the development of furniture specifications, coordination with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Ability to create and document ideas in 2 and 3 dimensions to portray initial design concepts to various individuals and groups internally and externally.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Interior Design, Architecture, or Healthcare Facilities Planning and Design.
Complexity of Work:
- Knowledge of architectural design to develop conceptual design solutions based off programming and planning concepts.
- Ability to develop programming documents based on project requirements.
- Knowledge of space planning.
- Knowledge of furnishings, finishes and equipment.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, self-motivated and ability to adapt quickly to project needs.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years professional experience.
- Experience within healthcare environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and FGI Guidelines.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit skills, Enscape, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suites and Microsoft Products (PPT, Excel, Word).
Physical Requirements:
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC, normal and corrected vision, extensive sitting, and mobility.
- Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time to perform site inspections of construction and renovation projects.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally. The position requires a passport and/or the ability to get a passport within a reasonable time frame.
- Must have reliable transportation. The position requires a valid driver's license and automobile insurance and the ability to drive to Cleveland Clinic facilities.
- The position requires the ability to perform occasional lifting of 5 to 15 pounds.

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $20.77
Maximum hourly: $31.68
