The Central Service/Sterile Processing Department (CS/SPD) plays a key role in how our operating rooms care for our patients as a whole team relies on these caregivers to successfully set up the operating room. As a CS/SPD Services Assistant, you will be responsible for testing equipment, running diagnostics, pulling case carts, putting away surgical supplies and providing dispatch services.
This position is intended for students who are participating in the Howley ASPIRE Pathways program and intend to pursue a career in Sterile Processing.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Run daily diagnostic reports and conduct equipment tests
Retrieve pull sheets and follow step-by-step instructions when pulling and recording case carts
Sock and rotate supplies and equipment
Deliver, retrieve and return case carts and other supplies to designated areas
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED
