As an Homecare RN, you will interact intimately with patients as they receive at-home treatment and care. You will visit new mothers and their babies to monitor both physical and mental well-being. You will also offer educational resources to help mothers ensure the safety of their babies as they adjust to the new relationship and family dynamic. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a transformational difference in the lives of patients and their families every day.
A caregiver in this position works three day shifts per week from 8:00AM - 5:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Perform accurate and complete starts of care, resumptions, recertification's and routine visits as requested and within specified time frames.
- Perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
- Assess patient for safety risks, abuse and neglect.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Assess and document patients' pain using appropriate pain scale, manage pain and document problems.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times regarding patient condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and interventions.
- Escalate change in patient condition to patient’s physician as appropriate.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
- Current Florida licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Two years of prenatal nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
- Valid Driver's License (VDL) in the state of Florida and proof of automobile insurance coverage
- Lactation Support (LBCLC or CLC) Certification
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- One year of in-home health experience
- Bachelor's of Science in nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:
- Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
- Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
- Some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids
- Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
- Ambulatory
- Driving patients' homes, able to climb stairs, pull, push, and facilitate movement of the patient
- Ability to read, write and communicate with patients
