What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT ADMIN position at Cleveland County?
Performs advanced technical work managing the County's computer systems including servers, networks, and personal computers, including hardware and software, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Assistant IT Director. The normal work schedule includes Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some after-hours and weekend work will be required as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide General IT Administration tasks (e.g. Create and Manage Users, Network Shares, Backups, Cloud Accounts and Access)
Troubleshoot, Analyze, and Resolve issues reported by users and systems
Provide Tier 2 Helpdesk Support
Configure, Deploy, and Manage hardware and software (e.g. servers, PCs, laptops, phones, tablets, printers, scanners, and various software)
Maintain system and network security
Research and make recommendations for new systems, software, and upgrades
Provide audiovisual (AV) support (e.g. microphones, speakers, displays, mixers, lighting, and various AV software)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Various programming languages and techniques, operating systems, and the capabilities and limitations of computer and network equipment. Information technology best practices, including cloud computing technologies, cybersecurity protocols, and data protection regulations. The methods, materials, and equipment used in the electronics trade. Repair and maintenance of electronic and computer systems. Communicate effectively in oral and written form. Be self-motivated and perform duties at a high level with little supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, supervisors, employees, and the public.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 1 to 3 years' experience with Microsoft Windows operating system environment, networking, troubleshooting, and working with vendors, IT related certifications are a plus, or equivalent combination of education and experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices and assembly or fabrication of parts within arms length; work occasionally requires exposure to the risk of electrical shock; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver's license
Special Recommendations Not Required:
o Technical Certifications
o Experience with Networking with Cisco switches and routers
o Experience with High Level programming languages
o Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems including Windows 10/11 and Server versions
o Experience with Virtualization Technologies (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V)
o Experience administering and using Microsoft 365
