ATTENDING DENTIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
In this role, you are responsible for:
- The attending dentist oversees the care of the patient and provides the appropriate level of supervision based on the nature of the patient’s condition;
- The attending dentist shall review the progress notes and provide constructive commentary on content;
- For each patient encounter, the attending physician must ensure that services provided are appropriate, review with the resident the patient’s history and diagnosis, document the extent of his/her participation in the review and direction of services provided to the patient;
- During a resident’s first three months of residency, the attending dentist must be physically present for the key portion of every encounter between the patient and the resident;
- The attending dentist may advise the program director if he/she believes a change in the level of the resident’s responsibility and supervision should be considered;
- Ensuring compliance with the program’s OSHA/Infection Control, Radiation Safety, and HIPAA protocols and policy as per outside regulatory requirements and expectations;
- Attending medical staff/GME meetings as scheduled;
- Directing the program’s Quality Assurance program to include resident performance improvement plans and pro-active chart reviews;
- Managing any patient complaints or concerns in the direction of timely and appropriate resolution;
- Actively participating in didactic courses, in accordance with interests and expertise;
- Participating in clinical instruction and supervision of Residents which may include direct patient care;
- Monitoring Resident caseload for quality, diversity, and quantity;
- Evaluation and monitoring Resident and faculty performance on a regular basis in accordance with program and CODA standards;

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $300,000.00 per year
