Title : Associate Scientist, Assay Development

The Associate Scientist will report to the Manager of Immunoassay Development
Job Overview
The Associate Scientist will join a team that develops of a new class of diagnostics. The Associate Scientist will be responsible for performing analytical procedures including testing of specimens and / or blood products supporting the development and commercialization of a new class of diagnostic tests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Development and optimization of new immunoassays for the detection and quantification of protein biomarkers in human blood samples (serum, plasma)
- Investigation of biomarker performance characteristics (sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, precision)
- Validation and transfer of assays to clinical settings
- Assist team members in the design and execution of research project
- Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for experimental studies
- Conduct tests and procedures utilizing various laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Adhere to all applicable good laboratory practices and standard operating procedures
- Maintain records of studies in accordance with Good Documentation Practices and adhere to applicable policies and procedures
- Accumulate data from analyses and prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables for presentation to supervisor for final analysis
- Order and receive supplies and equipment
- Reagent preparation
- Perform routine maintenance and laboratory upkeep
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
