Job Summary
JOB TITLE: Library Assistant
HOURS OF WORK: On-site; full-time (40 hours) or part-time (24 hours). The Law Library is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
PAY RANGE: $18.00-$20.00, depending on education and experience.
BENEFITS: Paid sick leave; paid vacation
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma and either an associate or college degree from an accredited academic institution.
Experience: One year of relevant work experience in a library or legal setting; experience with Office 365 and basic computer software such as Google and Microsoft products. Familiarity with legal research databases and SIRSI a plus.
DUTIES: The following lists of duties are representative of, but not necessarily inclusive of, the activities conducted by this position:
· performs reference services for patrons in-person, by phone, and via email
· provides electronic document delivery to patrons
· assists patrons in using the Law Library’s collections, services, and computers
· assists with the Law Library’s social media platforms
· consults with the Director on reference services, service policies, and programming
· assists with programming, newsletters, and email blasts
· recommends updates to web page content
· makes collection recommendations
· performs circulation functions
· assists with cataloging materials
· performs opening and closing duties
· performs special projects at the request of the Director
