What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event & Group Sales Associate position at Cleveland Metroparks?
The Event and Group Sales Associate generates revenue through rental of special event spaces throughout Cleveland Metroparks and special event/group experiences throughout Cleveland Metroparks.
The incumbent needs to have the ability to sell and execute multiple events at a fast pace, work well with corporate meeting planners as well as brides and grooms, and work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, holidays - year round.
Essential Functions:
- Generates revenue in the following areas:
- Stillwater Place;
- Zoo rentable halls, including Rainforest and Primate, Cat and Aquatics Building;
- Zoo picnic shelters, including Palava Hut, Wild Wonder Pavilion and Nature Nook Pavilion;
- All rentable locations throughout Cleveland Metroparks, including all picnic areas, halls and nature centers.
- Develops and implements comprehensive sales process, including:
- Targeting customers, including individuals (e.g., brides and grooms), companies and organizations;
- Qualifies leads and manages CRM database of clients;
- Identifies new business targets and generates sales opportunities;
- Identifies renewal opportunities and upsell opportunities.
- Develops and enhances promotional tools and sales presentations that will effectively convey information about group sales and rental facilities;
- Presents on-site and off-site to corporations, organizations, service clubs, etc., for the purpose of generating revenue, and
- Creates and staffs appropriate displays at target/lead-rich events.
- Plans, conducts and coordinates sales activities of Cleveland Metroparks under the direction the Group Sales Manager. Prepares all forms necessary and disseminates information to appropriate Cleveland Metroparks divisions in a timely manner to ensure efficient group sales/rental operations and adherence to Cleveland Metroparks guidelines.
- Coordinates activity of other Park District employees for events and rentals (e.g., Rangers, Zoo facility operations, animal care, education and volunteers). Coordinates arrangements for daytime group entry to ensure that prescribed entry/admission procedures are followed.
- Acts as on-site host/hostess for group sales/rentals.
- Assures all revenue control procedures comply with Park District revenue handling procedures. Develops, maintains and preserves complete and permanent records necessary concerning group sales/rentals. Effectively manages client accounts by monitoring payments and collection of all rental fees.
- Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
