Nord Family Network Director’s Fellowship in Digital Innovation
Are you interested in how museums use innovative technology to connect with visitors? The department of Digital Innovation and Technology Services seeks a tech-savvy student to collaborate with museum staff on outward-facing digital projects at the museum, including the museum’s website and ongoing digital projects such as the museum’s interactive ArtLens Gallery and exhibition-based digital projects.
The Digital Projects Intern will learn the basics of project management while assisting with administrative and support tasks in relation to numerous ongoing initiatives, such as the next iteration of the museum’s interactive digital ArtLens Gallery, the ArtLens app, website management, exhibition digital projects and digital innovation promotional content.
Tasks may include testing or reviewing content or software for outward facing digital projects, including writing detailed testing reports and documentation, writing copy for website and social on digital initiatives, supporting additional outward facing projects as they arise. The role may additionally include occasional time spent in the ArtLens Gallery interacting with visitors and assisting with technology.
Intern will also have the opportunity to work on themes for the ArtLens Wall, ArtLens App, and ArtLens Studio’s Zoom & Reveal Wall.
By completing this internship, the selected candidate will gain exposure to digital project management across multiple diverse projects, working with Digital Project Managers in Microsoft Planner, Teams, and Smartsheet. The selected candidate will also gain experience working with CMA’s custom back-end software systems, including ArtLens Middleware, gaining familiarity with collection management systems and data flow structures.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, applicants must :
- Be a junior or senior-level undergraduate student.
- Ideally have experience in Computer Science, Web programming, User Experience / HCI, or Art History
- No coding skills necessary, but tech familiarity preferred.

This position is funded through an Eric and Jane Nord Family Director’s Fellowship. The pay rate for this internship is $16 / hour. The internship is 35 hours / week for nine weeks. The internship includes a generous housing and travel stipend.
Typical office hours are 9-5, Monday-Friday. The selected candidate will attend regular weekly, monthly, and bi-weekly meetings within the department. The project schedule for the next iteration of ArtLens Gallery is under development, exact week-to-week tasks depend on this schedule as well as intern’s skill set.
The tentative start date for this internship is June 2nd, 2025 .
