Job Summary :
The School of Education and Counseling (SEC) at Cleveland State University is seeking a faculty member of the highest caliber to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Counseling Program, beginning August 18, 2025. The successful candidate will be working in the largest counselor education program in Northeast Ohio that enrolls a diverse student body and has nationally recognized faculty. The successful candidate must have a doctorate from a CACREP-approved Counselor Education program. The successful candidate will teach master’s level courses in CACREP-approved clinical mental health and school counseling programs. They will also be expected to engage in service, research / scholarship, and assist in coordination of practicum and internship experiences.This is a full-time tenure-track position with competitive salary and benefits. Hiring is contingent upon maintaining existing levels of funding from the State of Ohio.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-approved doctoral program – Appropriate terminal degree completed by July 1, 2025. Persons who are ABD will be hired at the rank of Instructor;
- Eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Counselor and / or School Counselor in the state of Ohio and;
- Evidence of effective graduate level teaching experience in a counselor education program.
