Prep Cook/Dishwasher

Primary Purpose

Execute a world class food service, as part of the Cleveland Guardians organizational nutrition philosophy, to optimize health and performance of Cleveland Guardian players, coaches, and staff. 

We are looking for a hardworking and dependable Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience in a similar role and is eager to contribute to a clean, efficient, and well-organized kitchen environment. This position is essential to ensuring smooth kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with basic food preparation.

Core Responsibilities/Duties:

Primary responsibilities include the following practices implemented during the competitive season, and the offseason:

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently to keep kitchen operations running smoothly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area, kitchen, and storage spaces.
• Assist with basic food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling prep items.
• Properly store and label ingredients and supplies.
• Take out trash and recycling, ensuring kitchen sanitation standards are met.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Assist kitchen staff with additional tasks as needed in front and back of the house
• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a team-oriented environment.

Role Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in a similar role in a restaurant or professional kitchen.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and positive personality with a focus on providing good hospitality.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment. 
• Collaborative and able to succeed in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
