Profile

This position serves as the Executive Director, Partnership Development. It is responsible for establishing and developing relationships with corporate, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions. Additionally, it involves identifying and tracking partnership opportunities, facilitating outreach events, and discovering opportunities for collaboration.

Location: San Jose

Essential Functions

  • Establish and develop relationships with corporate, nonprofit organizations, school districts, and college/university partners; identify and track partnership opportunities. (30%)
  • Develop strategic partnerships with businesses, workforce agencies, military bases, and international agencies to increase brand awareness and market share for the college. (30%)
  • Collaborate with other campus offices to identify and develop relationships with external partners. (10%)
  • Actively seek partnerships with high schools, colleges, and universities; serve as the liaison regarding dual credit agreements and articulation agreements. (10%)
  • Participate in planning and implementing various events including workshops, information sessions, and recruiting events. (10%)
  • Nurture relationships through research, cold-calling, emailing, and other strategies to develop a full schedule of meetings and presentations. (5%)
  • Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)

Knowledge

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • General knowledge and experience in higher education, corporate, and nonprofit industries.
  • Knowledge of marketing services and partnership program development.
  • Strong working knowledge of communications, media relations, and campaign execution.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Highly motivated with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative.

Abilities

  • Ability to influence at the executive level and develop cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes in priorities.
  • Ability to travel as required and work variable hours based on business needs.

Education

Position Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in leadership, business, education, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate certificates in a related field preferred but not required.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in higher education.
  • A minimum of 3 years in partnership development or corporate/nonprofit experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years managing corporate relationships with external organizations.
  • At least 2 years creating marketing and branding materials for corporate clients.
