Description
Under general supervision, responsible for general facilities maintenance, boiler tending and end of shift security.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Perform facilities maintenance such as floor cleaning with a powered scrubbing machine, general cleaning, window washing, etc.
- Empty trash throughout the production facility.
- Painting on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for boiler blow-down, conductivity testing and record keeping for boilers.
- Perform end of shift shutdown activities, (compressor shutdown, securing perimeter access points, etc.).
- Performing monthly inspections of spill carts, ladders, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, sprinklers systems, etc.
- Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies.
- Replace expired light bulbs.
- Operate the Abcor waste treatment system during discharge cycles.
- Demonstrate a mature, problem-solving approach when dealing with all levels of site personnel, vendors, and customers, as well as the ability to cope with hazardous conditions or heavy time demands.
- Ability to start and persist with a plan of action, while exhibiting a high level of motivation, cooperation, and urgency.
- Ability to identify and take appropriate action when an abnormal situation develops. Ability to communicate effectively, responsibly, and promote effective working relationships.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CBI policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detailed oriented.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Basic computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Forklift certification.
- The ability to read and write English
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2- 5 years' experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Occasionally works on ladder of lift platform at heights of 20 feet or more.
- Must be able to work in a variety of physically awkward positions.
- Frequently lifts materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Use of hands/fingers continuously through the shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.
- Will stand upright for prolonged periods of time.
