Description
Under general supervision, fabricate and test manufactured materials or components to verify compliance with Click Bond or customer furnished engineering standards and procedures and assisting in the completion of associated documentation and reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use inspection devices such as micrometer, caliper, optical comparator to determine product compliance with engineering drawings and associated aerospace specifications.
- Perform mechanical testing of test samples including operation and setup of computerized screw drive test machines under the supervision of test area lead or test engineer.
- Accurately enter, organize, and calculate data obtained during mechanical testing or provided by the test area lead and test engineer.
- Assist in analyzing data and troubleshooting failures.
- Support in the maintenance and review of full documentation of test program, through in-focus pictures, detailed notes, tables, charts, and computer printouts.
- Prepare materials for test applications, including, machine work, abrasive blasting, hand scraping and abrasion, while maintaining meticulous cleaning habits under the supervision of the test area lead or test engineer.
- Mix and apply adhesives per appropriate instructions and documentation under the supervision of test area lead or test engineer.
- Aid in the thermal, mechanical, and chemical conditioning of test samples.
- Design test tooling for computerized test machine with assistance of test area lead or test engineer.
- Assist in writing and reviewing reports of findings that clearly communicate results in the proper format, with minimal supervision.
- Assist in researching archives for supporting documentation and test data of current and new products.
- Assist in providing technical support and testing data to internal and external stakeholders for current and new products.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
- Ability to use and operate manual and powered hand tools under the supervision of test lab lead or test engineer.
- Ability to operate equipment such as manual lathes, mills and drill presses preferred but not required.
- Speaks clearly and confidently in all situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
- Writes clearly and informatively; presents numerical data effectively.
- Able to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, procedures, and written information.
- Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in the decision-making process.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or other engineering and electronic drafting and modeling program considered a positive asset, but not required.
- Able to compute averages, standard deviations, ratios, and percentages with some assistance.
- Adheres to written and verbal instructions, responds effectively to management direction, takes responsibility for personal actions, and consistently honors commitments.
- Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person of an alternate plan.
- Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to compose and send correspondence.
- Ability to write and read English.
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required. Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-year related experience and/or training required.
- Use of hand/fingers continuously through shift to manipulate components, and tools and feel product for burrs or surface finish.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
- Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift, and bend, reach, kneel or crouch.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Communicates respectfully to all team members, vendors, and visitors.
- Models a positive attitude.
- Actively listens to others and supports the team environment.
- Asks questions and learns from mistakes.
