Responsibilities
Lead the purchasing of corrugated materials, folding cartons, and specialized packaging like sticks and custom designs. You’ll manage a portfolio of over 1,500 SKUs, with corrugated being a significant focus.
Build strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, and manage a structured bidding process every two years. This involves thorough planning, often taking several months to complete.
Partner with the marketing team to ensure packaging designs and graphics are in line with branding requirements. Oversee any necessary updates or approvals for these designs.
Prepare high-level quarterly reports for leadership, highlighting key trends in procurement and providing updates on category performance.
Look for ways to enhance purchasing workflows, improve vendor performance, and ensure smooth inventory management across all locations.
Requirements
BS / BA is required; Masters or MBA is preferred
7-10 years of experience in procurement is required, Experience in packaging is required
Detail-oriented, have a methodical approach to solving problems, and are proficient in Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
Someone who can juggle multiple priorities, stay focused on goals, and maintain a humble, hardworking demeanor. Independence and self-motivation are crucial.
