Position Description:
The Hospitality & Sales Associate is a key revenue driver, responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences while actively maximizing sales opportunities. This role is focused on converting visitors into loyal customers and wine club members through engaging interactions and personalized sales strategies.
This position involves direct engagement with Wine Club members and visitors while extending sales efforts beyond the tasting room via proactive phone and email outreach to top clients. Success in this role requires a strong sales mindset, the ability to build lasting customer relationships, and a results-driven approach to achieving revenue targets.

Position Responsibilities:
- Drive sales through personalized hospitality experiences, focusing on wine, food, and club memberships.
- Consistently meet and exceed individual and team sales goals, including revenue and wine club acquisition targets.
- Proactively educate and enroll guests in our wine club and subscription programs, ensuring high conversion rates and repeat business.
- Dedicate a minimum of 8 hours per week to proactive sales outreach, developing strong client relationships and closing deals.
- Conduct virtual and in-person tastings with a strategic focus on upselling and customer retention.
- Facilitate private and group tasting experiences, tailoring presentations to maximize purchases.
- Leverage CRM and sales tools to meticulously track leads, document customer interactions, log purchase history, manage follow-ups, and analyze sales trends to optimize overall sales performance and client retention strategies.
- Provide expert guidance on product selection and promote add-on sales opportunities.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our organically certified wines and food products to effectively communicate their quality, benefits from our sustainability efforts, and the unique value behind our dynamic product range, driving increased sales and customer loyalty.
- Manage opening and closing procedures while ensuring a premium retail and tasting environment.
- Adhere to company policies, including Food Safety and Responsible Beverage Service.
- Ensure all guest interactions, sales transactions, and shipping orders are properly documented and completed.
- Support concierge services, appointment scheduling, and phone sales.
- Actively participate in required sales, safety, and training meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of experience in high-end hospitality and sales, preferably in a winery, luxury retail, or events setting, with a proven ability to provide white-glove service and exceed sales targets.
- Proven ability to drive sales, close deals, and build long-term client relationships.
- Strong negotiation and customer engagement skills, with a focus on revenue growth.
- Wine education/training preferred; deep knowledge of wine, food pairings, and the Napa Valley industry is required.
- Strong ability to anticipate guest needs, personalize interactions, and curate exclusive experiences that increase brand loyalty and high-value purchases.
- Demonstrated expertise in data-driven sales strategies, CRM optimization, and POS system utilization to enhance client engagement and revenue growth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work collaboratively in a high-energy team environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Word, Excel, Outlook, and winery POS systems (use of TOCK is a plus).
- Familiarity with Napa Valley’s hospitality landscape (restaurants, hotels, wineries, attractions).
- Ability to taste and evaluate wines professionally.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting 40-50 lbs.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a passion for sales.
- Barista experience a plus.
