Position Description:
The Hospitality Associate is a key ambassador of Clif Family Winery, responsible for creating welcoming, memorable experiences that leave a lasting impression on our guests. This role blends warm hospitality with a passion for storytelling, helping guests discover wines, food pairings, and membership opportunities that match their tastes and interests.
The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, guest-focused environment, enjoys building connections, and has a natural ability to guide guests toward wine, food, and club offerings that they’ll love. Whether introducing someone to their new favorite wine or welcoming them into our Wine Club community, the Hospitality Associate plays a vital role in making every visit special.

Position Responsibilities:
- Provide warm, personalized hospitality to all guests, ensuring an exceptional and memorable visit.
- Create experiences that encourage wine and food purchases by leading informative tastings and making thoughtful pairing recommendations.
- Share the Clif Family mission, organic farming practices, and sustainability efforts through engaging storytelling.
- Introduce and enroll guests in our wine club and subscription programs that fit their specific needs and lifestyles, helping them feel connected to our community and excited about our offerings.
- Consistently meet and exceed individual and team goals related to guest engagement, sales, and wine club conversions.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our organically certified wines and food products, articulating their unique qualities and value in a way that resonates with guests.
- Utilize CRM and sales tools to track guest preferences, document interactions, and ensure meaningful follow-ups that enhance customer loyalty.
- Assist with concierge services, including appointment scheduling and guest inquiries, ensuring seamless visits.
- Maintain an inviting and well-organized tasting environment that elevates the guest experience
- Support and participate in hospitality-driven events and experiences, ensuring smooth execution and exceptional service.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures while ensuring a premium retail and tasting environment.
- Adhere to company policies, including Food Safety and Responsible Beverage Service.
- Participate in training sessions to continuously expand knowledge of wine, hospitality, and Clif Family’s brand values.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of hospitality experience, preferably in a winery, luxury retail, or events setting.
- Strong customer service and engagement skills, with a balance of hospitality and sales expertise.
- Passion for wine, food, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work collaboratively in a high-energy team environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Word, Excel, Outlook, and winery POS systems (TOCK is a bonus).
- Familiarity with Napa Valley’s hospitality landscape (restaurants, hotels, wineries, attractions).
- Ability to taste and evaluate wines professionally.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting 40-50 lbs.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and guest-focused mindset.
- Barista experience a plus.
