The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara is a luxury resort and club located along California’s stunning Central Coast. Featuring four Har-Tru clay courts, the club offers a premier racquets experience for resort guests and members alike.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Racquets to lead all aspects of racquet sports programming and operations. This is a dynamic position that involves coaching, program development, and facility management, with a strong emphasis on exceptional guest service and hospitality. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, service-driven, and passionate about growing a world-class racquets program.
COMPENSATION: Salary range $68,500 - $70,000, plus commission.

Develop, manage, and improve the racquets facility within the framework of Cliff Drysdale Tennis.

Be the leader of the racquets program, overseeing both on- and off-court activities.

Provide a minimum of 20 hours of weekly on-court instruction, adjusting seasonally.

Create a regular schedule of on-site hours, ensuring availability to members and guests.

Be available on-call for emergencies or designate an appropriate point person.

Assist in up to six corporate events or training days annually as assigned.

Administer and enforce facility and company policies and procedures.

Design, promote, and grow comprehensive racquets programs for all levels, including:
- Private lessons
- Adult and junior clinics
- Special events and social mixers
- Leagues and team practices
- Cardio Tennis
- Introductory programs like Tennis 101

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate racquets staff.

Market racquets programs to increase participation and maximize revenue.

Ensure an exceptional level of guest service, providing a welcoming and professional experience.

Maintain court conditions and facility cleanliness to the highest standards.

Oversee racquets shop operations (if applicable), including inventory control and sales.

Accurately record and reconcile revenue, deposits, and POS transactions.

Conduct weekly staff meetings to ensure smooth operations and program alignment.

Contribute racquets-related content for the club newsletter and website.

Develop and maintain an annual calendar of racquets events, coordinating marketing initiatives.

Work closely with the Resort General Manager and other departments to align programming with the Ritz-Carlton’s luxury hospitality standards.

Provide monthly reports on program performance and financials.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations for members, guests, and staff.

Maintain an accurate membership database and oversee payroll entry.

Possess strong knowledge of tennis and pickleball merchandise, assisting guests with product recommendations.

Train staff on the facility's POS system and ensure proper program reporting.

Minimum high school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.

USPTA/PTR or equivalent tennis coaching certification preferred.

Proven experience in racquets club management or high-level instruction.

Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical ability to teach and be on the court regularly, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Frequently stands, walks, and uses hands for instruction and facility management.

Works in outdoor weather conditions; noise level is moderate.
