Job Title: Commercial Construction Estimator
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized professional to fill the role of Commercial Construction Estimator. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, planning, and overseeing the execution of commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in estimating, project management, and design-build processes to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Collaborate with design teams to align budgets with project concepts during the pre-construction phase.
Identify and mitigate potential project risks.
Lead and coordinate project teams, including subcontractors, architects, engineers, and superintendents.
Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful completion.
Address and resolve issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure all projects adhere to safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.
Work with project teams to help oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle to meet required specifications.
Reporting and Documentation:
Present cost reports and bid packages to stakeholders.
Review project closeout documents with projects team. Prepare and present accurate job cost and profit reports. Maintain accurate records of estimating costs.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating with a proven track record of successfully estimating and closing private and public commercial projects valued at $1M to $20M.
Proficiency in estimating and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Buildertrend, MS Project).
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Design-build project experience.
Familiarity with value engineering and conceptual design.
PMP certification or similar credential is a plus.
