Job Overview
Provide carpentry and crew managerial skills to each job site. The Foreman is qualified to cut, fabricate and install wood, metal and other structures according to specifications. This job will entail working in diverse settings. The Foreman will oversee a crew of carpenters and laborers and ensure that the crew is adhering to all health and safety standards.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
· Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using tape measure and speed square.
· Follow established safety rules and regulations to ensure and maintain job site safety.
· Shape or cut materials to specific measurements using necessary power or hand tools.
· Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
· Construct forms for pouring concrete.
· Hang doors and Install door hardware to specifications.
· Install toilet accessories and bathroom partitions, signage and flashing as requested and to the specifications on the job.
· Communicate with the Superintendent on site to prepare for upcoming work and necessary tools and materials needed.
· Delegate tasks and oversee the work of carpenters and laborers on site and help ensure that all health and safety standards are upheld.
Qualifications
· Previous experience as a foreman and/or carpenter
· Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, tape measure etc.)
· Carpenter provided tool list – hammer, tape measure, level, nail bag, screw drivers and speed square.
· Communicate using the following tools: cell phone, email.
· Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and must be able to lift and/or more up to 50 pounds.
· More than 40 hours per week may be required to meet project deadlines.
· Able to travel to job site as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
