Head of Forest Acquisition North America

Position overview
As Head of Forest Acquisition North America, you will be responsible for the acquisition of forest areas in the USA and Canada with the help of your extensive network. Through the purchase, but primarily through the leasing of forest areas, you and your team will lay the foundation for the development of CO2 projects by the Project Development Team with whom you will work closely. This is a dynamic management role that requires a combination of forestry expertise, communication and negotiation skills and project management knowledge.
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Development and implementation of strategies for the acquisition of forests in line with operational objectives
- Acquisition of large forest areas for management with a focus on CO2 projects
- Establishment of the company location incl. team in North America
- Establishment of a network for the successful acquisition of forest areas
- Representation of the company vis vis landowners and other stakeholders
- Head of the acquisition team for small and medium-sized forests
- Ongoing analysis and evaluation of the market for the acquisition of forests
- Assistance with contract negotiations
- Initiation of forest management and assistance in its development
- Ensuring an excellent collaboration with the project development department
- Development of cost estimates and adherence to specified budgets
- Supporting control of silvicultural practice and management guidelines
