ABOUT THE CC FACILITY
The Catalytic Climate Finance Facility (CC Facility) accelerates the implementation of high-impact, ready-to-scale financial structures through a suite of services that include grant funding, technical support, and a market-building Learning Hub. The CC Facility fills a market gap and reduces market fragmentation to mobilize private capital for climate action in developing economies. The CC Facility was launched in May 2023 and is a partnership between CPI and Convergence, who are combining their expertise and track-record to turn innovative financial vehicles into scalable solutions, to increase the available investable pipeline and grow the climate finance market.
The Learning Hub is a key component of the CC Facility value offering. The main purpose of the Learning Hub is to generate new evidence and highlight existing evidence on best practices that can contribute to accelerate the implementation of financial vehicles to mobilize private capital and achieve climate objectives and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at scale. The core focus is to develop an accessible compendium of knowledge products for both capital receivers and capital providers, as well as best practices that can help mainstream and scale climate finance. The overall objective of the Learning Hub is to help incentivize and accelerate climate action for its two primary audiences: (1) CC Facility and (2) the larger climate finance ecosystem. The Learning Hub will help build the field and consolidate the market, creating synergies and increasing efficiencies in the ecosystem.
POSITION SUMMARY
CPI is seeking a talented and motivated individual with relevant expertise to support the Learning Hub’s work with knowledge sharing related to innovative climate finance vehicles that can mobilize private capital. Such knowledge products include written reports and briefs, frameworks, and tools, as well as workshops, convenings, and learning sessions. This person will be responsible for project management and coordination of the Learning Hub, including supporting the organization and timeline for research deliverables and learning sessions; stakeholder engagement and management; managing external request for proposals (RfP) for research; and fundraising. This position requires an independent and resourceful individual with strong strategic, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
The Senior Program Associate will form an integral part of the CPI Climate Finance team and report to the CC Facility Lead, with a dotted line to the Climate Finance Knowledge Manager.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Program management
- Support the implementation of the Learning Hub’s Learning Agenda including the development of knowledge-sharing resources (capacity building activities, research products, etc.)
- Organize and conduct capacity building activities (training, workshops) for CCFF program grantees and relevant stakeholders on actionable topics such climate finance, as well as financing for sustainable agriculture, and nature-based solutions
- Work with the wider Innovative Finance team at CPI, as well as with analysts and specialists at CPI and Convergence to develop case studies and other knowledge products based on key learnings
- Coordinate with CC Facility Market Acceleration team and Comms team to ensure alignment on needs and outputs, as well as to support dissemination of knowledge products
- Support the refinement of criteria for the CC Facility’s Market Acceleration process
- Support the request for proposals processes and contraction of external researchers
Stakeholder engagement
- Support stakeholder engagement with relevant experts and engage different actors on the implications of research findings an action-oriented outcomes
- Participate and lead workshops and other learning sessions
- Engage with researchers in the Global South to expand research conducted on relevant topics
- Communicate and collaborate with CPI staff working around the globe
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree required and professional experience in the fields of economics, finance, business, international development, or another relevant field. Candidates without such a qualification will only be considered if significant relevant work experience can be demonstrated.
- Experience in project management, business development, entrepreneurship, or related fields including coordinating deadlines, budget and resource management and dealing with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Ability to design in-depth knowledge products on topics associated with investing in and developing climate finance vehicles, translating complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
- Proven experience in contributing to climate finance research projects, with strong ability to synthesis findings, create detailed reports, and communicate insights effectively to diverse stakeholders
- Experience or knowledge in the areas of climate finance, blended finance, and/or impact investing and familiarity with investors’ needs to invest in these areas

POSITION DETAILS
CPI is recruiting for one full time position to be based either in our San Francisco or Washington D.C. office. CPI has adopted hybrid working whereby staff are able to work a mix of remote and in the office.
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 per annum. CPI salary offers are determined by the level of skill and experience demonstrated by the selected candidate as well as alignment to internal equity and external market levels.
