JOB CLASSIFICATION: Exempt, Full-time, 12 months
RATE OF PAY: Grade 6, Starting at $41, 216 annually
LOCATION: Main Office in North Tazewell
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Community Corrections Co-Director performs administrative and management functions:
- Develops and manages the grant and its budget’
- Trains and supervises Intake Office and Probation Officer;
- Meets with probationers, conducts substance abuse assessments, conducts drug screens, arranges for counseling, rehabilitation, residential treatment and other community services as needed; Completes intensive case management plans as needed; Reports to court as needed to report on progress of probationers;
- Collects and enters all data, report info, case management into required databases;
- Pulls and analyzes criminal record checks (or delegates such activities) and conducts periodic drug/alcohol screenings:
- Serves as liaison for the Community Criminal Justice Board (CCJB), Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), the Judiciary, local and state criminal justice agencies, service providers and other Community Corrections Programs;
- Conducts OST (Offender Standards Test) for clients on probation;
- Maintains the confidentiality of files, records, correspondence, documents and other offender information, in accordance with the statutes and established policies and procedures;
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in Criminal Justice;
- A minimum of three years’ experience in the Criminal Justice field;
- Attention to detail and the ability to plan organize and implement Evidence Based Practices;
- Skilled in investigative interview techniques;
- Ability to solve unexpected problems;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel;
- Be willing to attend trainings, meetings, seminars overnight or out of town.
PRIOR TO HIRE: Must submit to FBI check, Sex Offender check, Child Protective Services check, complete a Sworn Disclosure, and reference checks;
ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess or secure First Aid/CPR Certification; Must have valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation;
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must get TB screening or PPD, Physical, CPS, DMV, and must be proficient in English;
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift minimum number of 25 pounds. This position requires bending, lifting, walking, talking, seeing, sitting, speaking, and hearing;
