JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
RATE OF PAY: $15.35 hr.
NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: 40
NUMBER OF MONTHS PER YEAR: 12
LOCATION: Main Office
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Case Manager is responsible for case management/assessment, advocacy and peer counseling for individuals and families experiencing sexual and/or intimate partner violence. Responsibilities include interviewing, gathering case information, following up with clients, maintaining files and performing data entry. S/He is responsible for providing peer counseling, helping clients set goals, documenting client interaction, providing limited transportation and offering case management. She/he will be responsible for providing coverage for the agency hotline, educating clients about dynamics of sexual and intimate partner violence and options/resources available, and meeting ROMA goals;
EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree preferred and/or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform this job; Must work well with persons of varied sexual preference, racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds; Knowledge of counseling and advocacy techniques for people who have been victims of sexual and intimate partner violence, including crisis intervention and case management skills beneficial; Must exercise sound judgment, cope with stress and crisis situations in a calm manner and who models non-violent behavior; Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Must be able and willing to attend out of town, overnight meetings; Must be able to work flexible hours;
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and this position may require constant or extensive standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, hearing, seeing, and lifting;
