What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Event Lead position at Cline Family Cellars?
SUMMARY:
Seasonal, on call Events Lead :position that oversees Special Events at Cline Cellars and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Duties:
- Assist Event Management in all aspects of event activity when onsite at the Cline properties
- Oversee vendor and guest activity throughout event, including event strike and clean-up.
- Supervise parking and traffic direction during guest arrival and guest departure.
- Distribute and maintain wine/beer inventory at bars.
- Set-up and/or remove equipment as needed including chairs, tables, umbrellas, etc.
- Anticipate and troubleshoot guest or property issues and take the appropriate action as required
- Support catering bar staff throughout event, including recycling disposal as needed
- Support housekeeping in maintenance of facilities (including restrooms)
- Collect, count and return unopened wine to inventory at the close of each event.
- Provide follow up report on overall event, vendors and staff conduct after each event.
Hospitality/Supervisory Responsibilities: :
- Represent Cline Cellars, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards and The Olive Press at weddings, corporate events, social gatherings and club/public events in a professional manner
- Have an understanding of the event programs offered by the Cline properties
- Host and manage large group wine tastings including set-up and clean-up
- Bartend as required at private events and club/public events
- Support wine and wine club sales at events as appropriate
- Learn and operate winery POS systems
- Maintain communication with event management and winery staff throughout event.
Winery Security:
- Address safety hazards on the winery grounds affecting employee or visitor safety
- Ensure proper staging of event equipment before and after each event
- Secure winery buildings and grounds, close and lock gates after guest and vendor departure
- Report grounds and security issues to Event Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Excellent customer relations skills. Must possess good judgement and enjoy hospitality.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Be comfortable talking to large groups of people.
- Previous supervisory or management experience a plus.
- Passionate about wine and desire to learn about our brand stories and wine portfolios.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic equipment functions.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings
Physical Demands:
- Occasional sitting
- Frequent standing, walking on even and uneven surfaces
- Occasional driving
- Intermittent bending, twisting and reaching above shoulder
- Ability to lift and carry 21-50 lbs intermittently
- Ability to push and pull over 50 lbs intermittently
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environment
Pay rate:: $22.00/hour
**This is a seasonal position, expected to last through November, with the end date depending on business needs.
