Clinical Laboratory Director

An exciting new opportunity has just become available as our highly accredited hospital located in eastern Oklahoma is searching for a Clinical Laboratory Director to oversee Laboratory Operations. As the Laboratory Services Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that all areas are operated in accordance with advisory and regulatory agency standards, maintain a fiscally sound budget, develop and implement department initiatives that align with the facilities mission, oversee administrative operations, and ensure that the labs are operating at the highest standard of quality. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the hospital laboratory, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including staffing, scheduling, and resource management.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
• Establish and maintain quality control measures to ensure accuracy and precision in laboratory testing.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in laboratory practices and technologies.
• Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to optimize patient care outcomes.
• Manage laboratory budgets and resources effectively, ensuring cost-efficient operations.
• Stay abreast of advancements in laboratory science and technology, integrating new methodologies as appropriate.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to laboratory staff, promoting professional development and teamwork.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Pathology).
• Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP), and quality assurance principles.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving common goals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
• Proven track record of implementing innovative laboratory practices and technologies to improve efficiency and quality.
• Experience managing budgets and resources in a healthcare setting.
