Hospital Laboratory Manager

A clinical-management-consultants seeks an experienced Hospital Laboratory Manager to oversee overall operations for an acute care hospital laboratory.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning, staffing, and day-to-day management of on-site laboratory departments including Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop objectives and operational plans for laboratory services aligned with organizational standards
• Oversee all laboratory personnel management including hiring, training, and performance management
• Maintain regulated, safe, and compliant laboratory environments adhering to policies and regulations
• Manage laboratory budgets, financial performance, and supply/inventory controls
• Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory workflows and services
• Collaborate across the healthcare system to support growth of outreach/outpatient testing volumes
• Evaluate and integrate new testing methodologies, instrumentation, and information systems
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and adherence to organizational mission/values

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or related scientific discipline
• Experience managing high-complexity hospital/clinical laboratories
• Current certification as Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist
• Working knowledge of regulations governing laboratory operations (CLIA, CAP, OSHA, etc.)
• Strong commitment to quality patient care and customer service
