The Histology Laboratory Technician will report to the Laboratory Supervisor with responsibilities including organization of specimens for safeguard identification and integrity, preparing and assisting in the grossing of specimens with a pathologist, supplying materials to pathologists as needed, accurately documenting specimens, embedding, cutting, and performing routine stains on tissue sections, demonstrating competency in performance of routine and special stain, preparing slides for reading by pathologist, performing and completing frozen sections, functioning in an organized and independent manner, and demonstrating clear and concise communication with pathologist, histologists, and manager. The Clinical Histology Tech will receive a quick interview with successful completion of a NAACLS accredited HT program within last 5 years or an Associates degree in a related field and some laboratory experience.
