As the Manager Laboratory, you will be responsible for ensuring that all areas are operated in accordance with advisory and regulatory standards, maintain a fiscally sound budget, develop and implement department initiatives that align with the greater health system’s mission, oversee administrative operations, and ensure that the clinical labs are operating at the highest standard of quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by a recognized accrediting agency (ASCP, AMT, etc.).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, including specimen processing, analysis, and reporting, across various laboratory disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.).
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS), electronic medical records (EMR), and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate staff, foster teamwork, and promote a culture of excellence.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards governing clinical laboratories (CLIA, CAP, COLA, etc.).
