A 250 bed not-for-profit teaching hospital in near Queens, NY, is seeking a skilled and experienced Hospital Social Work Supervisor! This role is pivotal in overseeing the social work department’s operations, including conducting Open Chart Reviews in line with departmental protocols.
The Hospital Social Work Supervisor will be responsible for the orientation of new employees, ongoing staff training, and reorientation as needed. Acting as a key resource for assigned Social Workers, the Hospital Social Work Supervisor will assist in escalating cases and participate in performance improvement activities. This includes presenting at hospital-wide Performance Improvement Meetings to drive enhancements in patient care and departmental efficiency.
Reporting directly to the Director of Case Management and Social Work, the ideal candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university, a valid NYS license to practice as a Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW preferred), and a minimum of three years of hospital experience, with prior supervisory experience being highly desirable. The role demands excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the flexibility to collaborate effectively with various hospital professionals.
