This Level IV Trauma Center is ranked highly among community medical centers in Colorado in several key patient care categories. The OR Surgical Technologist will work in a facility with 3 ORs that offers a wide range of inpatient acute care services and lines of specialty care such as Emergency Services, Pharmacy, and specializes in different Surgical Services, such as General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Gynecology, Eye Surgery, to over 8,000 residents.
The OR Surgical Technologist carries many other responsibilities in the OR including passing instruments to the Surgeon when needed during a procedure, providing solutions and medications, passing along tissue samples, and much more. Hands-on experience working side by side with a highly trained surgeon within an acute care facility is extremely important as you will be handling important aspects of each and every surgical procedure including taking the place of a circulator when they are not present. In this case, the Certified Surgical Tech will transport patients to the OR and help position patients on the operating table to prepare for surgery.
