The Surgical Tech carries many other responsibilities in the OR including passing instruments to the Surgeon when needed during a procedure, providing solutions and medications, passing along tissue samples, and much more. Hands on experience working side by side with a highly trained surgeon within an acute care facility is extremely important as you will be handling important aspects of each and every surgical procedure including taking place of circulator when they are not present. In this case, the Surgical Tech will transport patients to the OR and help position patient on the operating table to prepare for surgery.
