Job Summary: The Clinical Screener is responsible for performing initial screenings on patients or participants to assess their eligibility for clinical treatments. The role involves gathering and recording medical histories, conducting basic health assessments, and ensuring that individuals meet necessary criteria for enrollment or participation in clinical trials or healthcare programs. The screener works closely with medical staff to ensure proper documentation, confidentiality, and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial health screenings for patients or clinical trial participants.
- Collect detailed medical histories, including past illnesses, surgeries, medications, allergies, and family medical history.
- Administer basic health assessments
- Record and document all information accurately in patient or participant records.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory and ethical standards.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding screening procedures.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and medical staff to share findings or escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure proper handling of PHI.
- Assist in scheduling follow-up appointments or procedures as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical certifications or training (e.g., Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, or similar) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of clinical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Basic understanding of clinical trial protocols and medical screening processes.
- Experience with patient care or in a clinical setting is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact with patients or participants in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency with medical software and record-keeping systems.
Working Conditions:
- Work may involve interacting with patients or participants from diverse backgrounds.
- Occasional exposure to medical environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- Hours may vary, with potential for weekend or evening shifts depending on the nature of the facility or trial.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (e.g., carrying medical equipment).
- Must be able to perform basic health assessments, such as measuring blood pressure, drawing blood, or collecting samples.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
