Job Title : Water Maintenance Worker (Level I, II, III, or IV)

Reports To : Water Division Supervisor
Position Overview
The Water Maintenance Worker is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the city's water distribution system. This role ensures safe and reliable water delivery to residents, businesses, and other city facilities. Depending on qualifications and certifications, the position may be entry-level or an advanced placement within the division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair water mains, valves, hydrants, meters, and service lines.
- Perform water sampling and testing to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Operate and maintain a variety of equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, and hydro-excavators.
- Conduct routine inspections of the water distribution system to identify leaks, breaks, and other potential issues.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls for water main breaks, service interruptions, and other urgent situations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system conditions.
- Assist with meter reading, replacements, and billing-related inquiries as needed.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
Skills and Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Utah driver's license.
