CLINTON COUNTY CAP JOB DESCRIPTION
ELC Toddler Teacher Assistant
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
Responsible for achieving the goals of educational, nutritional, health, family services, and parent involvement regulations and performances standards of the Head Start/Early Head Start Program. To assist the parents and their children in the process of achieving a higher level of self-sufficiency.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Treat all families with dignity and respect.
2. Work cooperatively with all staff.
3. Ability to follow a detailed daily schedule.
4. Attend all required trainings.
5. Assist in meeting all Performance Standards/ELOF standards and Ohio Department of Education Early Learning Standards (ELDS).
6. Assist lead teacher in lessons and work closely developing individualized goals for students.
7. Demonstrate Leadership skills.
8. Have organizational and management skills.
9. Complete an annual performance review.
10. Ability to prioritize and make quick decisions.
11. Ability to actively interact with children.
12. Have the knowledge and skills to run the classroom independently in a developmentally appropriate manner.
13. Ability to set up a pleasant stimulating environment during meal times. Encourage children to try new foods. Sit with children during meals.
14. Responsible for ensuring that the classroom is a safe, healthy learning environment and cleaned daily and checked for broken toys or furniture.
15. Complete a quick health check on each child for signs or symptoms of illness or head lice.
16. All other job duties related to this position and the needs of Program.
17. Ability to clean up after children who have toileting accidents or who have become ill.
18. Follow correct diaper changing procedures.
19. Model and assist the children in self-help, healthy, dental and safe habits.
20. Serve as an advocate for the children and families.

RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
2. Must be a U. S. Citizen
3. Must be able to work as a team member.
4. Ability to bend, stoop, get up and down off the floor with ease and lift up to 40 pounds.
5. Must possess good problem-solving skills.
6. Must have either a High School Diploma or a GED, Associate Degree Preferred
7. Must pass Criminal BCI check.
8. Must support all agency and program goals and objectives.
