Job Summary:
Responsible for patrolling various areas of the hospital's buildings and grounds. Protects Clinton Memorial Hospital property from theft or vandalism. Assists in the control of visitors and patients as requested
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Patrols all areas inside and outside the Hospital, checking locked doors and secured spaces. Records any unlocked doors and notifies appropriate personnel when necessary
- Completes evening lockdown and morning unlock of designated doors
- Patrols parking lots and enforces Hospital parking regulations
- Maintains a written log of all action taken on shift
- Investigates and documents any suspicious activity
- Performs monthly fire drills, panic alarm tests and inspections, fire extinguisher inspections, and fireman's recall of elevators as scheduled
- Responds to requests for maintenance. Completes these tasks or calls on-call facility staff. Performs routine maintenance as assigned. Completes documentation of work orders assigned through computerized work order system called FM Works
- Sets up equipment for Helicopter landing zone and maintains a secure area while helicopter is arriving, sitting on ground, and taking off with patients being flown in/out
- Assists with wayfinding and controlling of patients, guests, and visitors
- Observes and questions unauthorized personnel on Hospital property
- Upon request, escorts and grants access to appropriate personnel to restricted areas of the hospital
- Collects, documents, and secures all identified patient valuables
- Patrols walking and foot paths to ensure walkways are free and clear of any potential fall hazards, snow, and/or ice
- If snow and ice are found on walkways proper ice melting product will be applied by security officers
- Contacts Facility on-call person during snow events
- Attends and participates in meetings, in-services, and virtual/in-person training to keep current with trends in the security field
- Provides a safe and secure environment for hospital patients, visitors, and employees. Responds to and assists with unruly, violent, intoxicated, mentally ill patients, guest or visitors. Observes and reports safety/security issues and contacts local law enforcement personnel when circumstances warrant their presence
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
License:
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
Experience:
- 2 years of full-time experience
- 1 year of security experience preferred
