Under the supervision of the Chief and Assistant Chief Pilots, Certified Flight Instructors (CFI) will be responsible for delivering comprehensive flight and ground instruction to student pilots, ensuring they receive the necessary training to obtain their pilot certificates. The instructor will monitor student progress and ensure their safety throughout the training process. Key responsibilities include providing pre-flight and post-flight briefings, evaluating student performance, and offering additional instruction as needed. The instructor must be well-versed in aviation regulations and safety standards, strictly adhering to all applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines.

Position Description:
- Flight Instruction: Deliver high- quality one-on-one instruction to students, covering all aspects of pilot training, including pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures.
- Ground School: Conduct classroom-based ground instruction on topics such as aerodynamics, navigation, weather, FAA regulations, and aircraft systems.
- Student Progress: Track and document student progress, offering feedback and guidance to help them meet their flight training goals in line with Clipper Aviation’s standards. Ensure all records are up to date and accurately reflect the student’s progress toward certification, in compliance with FAA requirements and company training protocols.
- Flight Safety: Conduct all training in a safe and controlled environment, strictly following FAA regulations and Clipper Aviation policies, while emphasizing to students the critical importance of safety throughout their training.
- Curriculum Development: Assist in the development and updating of training materials to meet the needs of students and comply with FAA standards.
- Aircraft Maintenance Coordination: Report any aircraft discrepancies or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel to ensure the fleet remains in optimal condition.
- Standardization: Maintain high standards of instruction and training, ensuring consistency in teaching methods and adherence to Clipper Aviation’s best practices.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to students, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs in a professional and supportive manner.
- Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends, FAA regulations, and instructional techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Valid and Current FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate, single engine land with Instrument Rating
- Valid and Current FAA Certified Flight Instructor Certificate for Airplanes (CFI)
- Valid and Current FAA Class III Medical Certificate
- 1 year of Prior CFI experience preferred * Demonstrate instructional knowledge and flight skills (including systems, flows, profiles, and emergency procedures) for aircraft in New Clipper Aviation’s fleet
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations and training standards
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and/or adjust to rapidly changing business needs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
Education:
- High School Diploma Required
- Associate degree or higher in Business or Aviation Administration preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must pass a physical exam and be certified fit to fly (FAA Class III Medical Certificate)
- This role may require physical flexibility to adapt to various environments, from aircraft cockpits to office settings.
