About the Role
True North Energy Solutions is seeking a reliable and skilled Petroleum/POS Technician to join our growing service team. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and installing petroleum and point-of-sale (POS) equipment at our customer locations. We're looking for someone with technical skills, a safety-first mindset, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities

Install, service, and maintain petroleum and POS equipment (fuel dispensers, automatic tank gauges, POS terminals, fuel tank components, etc.)

Troubleshoot low-level electrical and network communication issues

Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly, efficiently, and safely

Maintain organized inventory on service truck

Keep company service vehicle clean and serviced regularly
-
Communicate effectively with Service Manager, Dispatcher, fellow techs, and site personnel
On-Call Responsibilities (As Assigned)

Respond to emergency service calls:
-
Weekdays (Mon–Thurs): 4:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Weekends (Fri 4:00 PM – Mon 7:00 AM)

Complete emergency jobs immediately; report non-emergency issues to the Service Department

Company vehicle provided for service calls
Qualifications
Education & Experience:

No formal degree required
-
Technical training and field service experience preferred
Skills & Abilities:

Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

Familiarity with POS systems and software

Strong problem-solving skills

Clear communication and excellent customer service

Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
-
Team player with a strong work ethic and integrity
Working Conditions

Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity)

Physical activity includes lifting/carrying 50 lbs (with assistance if needed)

May involve exposure to petroleum products (gasoline, diesel, oil, grease)

Extended periods of driving and equipment handling
