Our company currently has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor at our Goodyear, AZ location.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily manufacturing activities in a manner that promotes Cornell/Cookson's objectives including directing all department associates on their shift, all expenses associated with labor costs, including overtime, as it relates to volume, and maintaining positive work relationships. This is a safety sensitive position.
Responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate excellent leadership qualities at all times while coaching department associates to take ownership of their processes.
- Manage day to day operations of the manufacturing function including training, increasing volume, meeting company goals, and maintaining customer satisfaction. Develop, report and improve metrics.
- Will be responsible for demonstrated improvements in safety, Quality and Productivity through process improvement efforts in compliance with all applicable standards and policies including Safety and Quality.
- Request or initiate corrective action for deficiencies affecting manufacturing, manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Responsible for the performance and development of the department associates.
- Devise strategies and techniques for achieving departmental goals.
- Conduct regular coaching, counseling and training with associates to build motivation and communication skills.
- Create training programs for associates to ensure all members of group are being prepared to provide superlative level of customer service.
- Conduct bi-annual evaluations of department staff.
- Attend various meetings to provide feedback, develop new processes to meet company goals, and create innovative ideas for improvements.
- Assist all departments in efficient communication with internal and external customers; maintain positive customer, vendor, and coworker relationships.
- Use Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook and other databases to communicate, process billing, relay messages, etc.
- Contribute to the development of corporate level strategies, plans and policies.
Job Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or G.E.D. plus a minimum 3 years of supervisory experience. Advanced knowledge of functionalities and capabilities of manufacturing functions. Must work effectively with other areas of the organization.
PROBLEM SOLVING: Able to work independently and at a high level of accuracy, exercise independent judgment and discretion, resolve problems and errors with minimal supervision from various sources. Referral to manager is available.
SCOPE OF CONTROL: Must maintain timely & accurate work flow in order to provide on time shipments to customers and materials to operational employees. Exercise independent judgment and discretion with authority to commit Company resources.
COMMUNICATION/COOPERATION: Ability to communicate with multi-departments and external customers (written and verbal forms of communication) for the purpose of obtaining information, advising the customer, solving problems, and explaining pertinent information to other areas of the Company.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
