Job Details
Selected resource will be responsible for working with the current development team to support and upgrade the current portfolio of critical agency applications with the potential to transition into the development leadership role.
Specifically, you will:
- Work closely with the current agency development team to update the portfolio of applications from the MS Access project file format (ADP) to MS Access database file (ACCDB) and from MS SQL Server 2008 to MS SQL Server 2016 or higher.
- Contribute to the determination of the future technical path for the agency application portfolio.
- Help maintain best practices for documentation and code management.
- Work closely with our internal developers and service providers to ensure the applications are stable and reliable.
- Work to provide our customers with the best transformation experience possible.
What is required:
- Strong technical skills in MS Access and MS SQL Server based application development and support, to include end user support of applications.
- Skills in developing complex VBA scripts.
- Strong communication and collaboration with both IT peers and agency personnel of varying levels of technical knowledge.
Work experience
- Previous experience supporting application database migrations involving MS Access and MS SQL Server
- Previous experience developing VBA application scripts
- Strong understanding of test processes especially user acceptance testing
- Hands on experience migrating from legacy database applications for both on premise and cloud environments
- Commitment to the highest customer service and ethical standards
- Knowledge of MS SQL Server administration a nice to have
- Previous experience working with development team delivering with Agile methodologies
- Previous experience with eliciting business and functional requirements is a plus
- Experience/knowledge of cloud technologies, specifically GitHub, Salesforce, Jira, SharePoint
