Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Programmer to join our team in Woodbury, CT. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC Swiss machines, particularly Star models. This is a full-time role that requires a strong understanding of machining processes, precision measuring instruments, and engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming and Setup:
Develop precise CNC programs to meet engineering specifications and production goals.
Set up CNC machines, including loading programs, selecting and installing tools, and adjusting settings for optimal performance.
Verify machine settings, offsets, and tool changes to ensure accuracy and precision during machining operations.
Machine Operation:
Program and operate Star Swiss CNC machines to produce intricate components with tight tolerances.
Monitor machine performance, making real-time adjustments to optimize efficiency and maintain top-tier quality standards.
Conduct routine checks on lubrication, cooling, and overall machine functionality.
Quality Control:
Inspect machined parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to ensure conformance to engineering specifications.
Address and correct any quality deviations to uphold production integrity.
Tool Maintenance:
Perform regular maintenance on tools, replacing them as needed for optimal performance.
Collaborate with management to resolve tooling or equipment issues promptly, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of CNC lathe programming experience, with specific expertise in Swiss CNC machines (Star models preferred).
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of machining processes, engineering specifications, and the use of precision measuring instruments.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and programming issues efficiently.
Attention to Detail: High level of precision and accuracy in programming, setup, and part inspection.
