What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Estimator position at Clough Projects Pty Ltd?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cost Estimator to join the Project Team in Perth! In this role, as an Estimator, you are part of the Clough corporate estimating group, itself part of the BD and Strategy Group under the EVP BD and Strategy.
While a member of the corporate estimating team, you are assigned to assist on estimates required for particular tenders to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of material take offs and estimates, pricing of unit rates as well as the validation of estimates as required. You will assist the Lead Estimator (Senior Estimator) in the preparation of the detailed estimates and presentation of same to management for approval, in accordance with the Client’s requirements and following all WeBuild Clough Group policies and procedures, to ensure timely completion of the most cost effective and comprehensive tenders
Webuild is the preferred bidder for the design and construction of the Women and Babies Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. This landmark project will replace the century-old King Edward Memorial Hospital and expand services and choice for women, newborns and families, delivering lasting benefits and a positive legacy for the people of Western Australia.

Your focus will include:
Preparation or assisting the preparation of detailed tender estimates, quantities, prices, costing for projects that form the basis of the Clough’s sell price;
Program and sequence works in a practical and efficient manner
Interpret specification and standards and assess their impact on project costs
Develop accurate estimates through first principles pricing of direct and indirect job costs including blue collar labour and white collar personnel/staff;
Review client’s designs for opportunities and omissions
Assess both design development contingency & construction contingency costs
Understand the Tender program and manage various stakeholders to time where inputs are required for assigned deliverable.
What you will bring to the team:
4 years minimum experience in estimating role;
1-2 years discipline experience in the requisite discipline
Degree qualified or significant on the job experience with part professional qualifications; Diploma or Certificate etc in Construction, Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying and/or Project/Construction Management.
Chartered Status in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Advanced skills in estimating computer software packages with demonstrated experience with estimating systems (EE Genesis, Candy, CATS or others typically used in construction industry), databases etc.
Financial management skills
Quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment
Experience in Construct Only, Design & Construct, Managing Contract, Alliance & PPP Contracts types
