Pay Range: $17 - $23/hr DOE


POSITION OVERVIEW

Clover Basin Animal Hospital is a family-owned small animal general practice new to Southwest Longmont. We offer a premium and personalized experience for owners and their pets. Veterinary Technicians work collaboratively with the rest of the medical team and under the direct supervision of the veterinarian(s) to execute patient treatment plans, while providing superior patient care and excellent customer service and client satisfaction. Veterinary Technicians report to the Practice Manager.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø Assist in the performance of a variety of technical and client education duties that facilitate the work of the veterinarian(s):

· Anesthesia monitoring and surgery prep

· Venipuncture and IV catheter placement

· Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography

· Preparation and interpretation of lab samples

· Proper and humane animal handling and restraint technique

· Maintenance of patient medical records

· Client education on various topics such as dental care, behavior, nutrition, etc.

Ø In collaboration with the Clinic Manager and Lead Veterinary Technician, provide training to technician aides and new-hires as needed

Ø Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking patients in and out as needed in the absence of the dedicated Client Service Representative


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Veterinary Technician, Practice Manager, or Medical Director

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ø High school diploma or GED

Ø 2 years of experience working in-role as a veterinary technician

Ø Competency in the following areas:

· Anesthesia monitoring and surgery prep

· Venipuncture and IV catheter placement

· Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography

· Preparation and interpretation of lab samples

· Proper and humane animal handling and restraint technique

· Record keeping

· Client education

Ø Proven efficiency and time-management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while still having a keen attention to detail

Ø Reliable and punctual

Ø Proven customer service and client communication, including ensuring client satisfaction at all times

Ø SATURDAY AVAILABILITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSTING


REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

Ø Colorado RVT Certification preferred but not required (will substitute experience working in-role as a veterinary technician in a clinical/hospital setting)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ø Ability to demonstrate proper lifting technique up to 40lbs

Ø Ability to wear a face mask at all times while inside the facility

Ø Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and reach

Ø Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ø Ability to work in an often-noisy environment with barking dogs

Ø Dexterity to write and manipulate a keyboard and mouse


Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening required. We do not test for THC.
