General Production Laborer

Clover Farms Dairy has been in business for over 80 years bringing fresh pasteurized milk from Pennsylvania dairy farms to our local community! We are looking for a motivated machine operator to serve our production team in the manufacturing plant.

THIS IS A SWING SHIFT POSITION. The typical day for our machine operator relief employees requires operation of machinery for bottling lines and packing lines and/or occasionally assisting material handlers or loaders in the warehouse rooms. Our machine operators are extremely important to our processes at the manufacturing facility in Reading, PA. The machine operator is tasked with communicating with pasteurizer operators and the supervisors to ensure the proper product is bottled and labeled efficiently. You would be responsible for the quality of the finished product coming off the production line you're running, and you will be monitoring defects and non-conformances periodically throughout the production day.

Responsibilities

· Safely operate various pieces of high speed and/or high-tech processing and packaging equipment

· Coordinate with pasteurizer operators and the supervisors to run products and fill orders.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with machinery or equipment operation and partner with maintenance staff to resolve issues.

· Perform change overs and end of day cleaning routines including disassembly and reassembly of necessary equipment.

· Perform continuous inspections for quality of finished product and packaging materials leaving your line.

· Be responsible for executing all required GMP/SQF/HACCP/Quality Control processes and documentation.

· Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives in order to increase platform performance.

· Assists in training new employees as needed.

· Preferred relevant production experience.

· Preferred previous experience in food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, beverage manufacturing or equivalent.

Qualifications

· Must be 18 years of age or older

· High School Diploma or GED

· Must be able to lift a minimum of 57.5 lbs as required by the position

· Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces

· Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.

Pay: $25.30 per hour
