Clover Leaf is seeking a qualified Safety Officer for an upcoming project at Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), expected to last 12-14 months. The project involves the design and construction of a 5,000 square-foot Pre-Engineered Metal Building designated for small arms storage. The scope includes installing a single cantilever sliding gate, asphalt-paved driveway, grading and erosion control measures, dry utilities, an access road, temporary free zone construction fencing, and related incidental work.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and Army Corps of Engineers regulations throughout the projects duration.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Provide safety training and orientation sessions to all project personnel, emphasizing site-specific protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training sessions, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
- Collaborate with project management and construction teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve the projects safety standards.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 30 hours of OSHA training.
- At least three (3) years of experience in construction and industrial safety, with a focus on projects involving the Army Corps of Engineers.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and Army Corps of Engineers safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of delivering clear safety instructions and fostering a culture of safety among all project stakeholders.
- Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate safety records and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and military personnel, to ensure a unified approach to safety.
