Job Description
Purpose:
The Procurement Associate diligently processes and maintains vendor records, purchasing requisitions, procurement acknowledgements, and actively communicates with production and suppliers to ensure manufacturing excellence and customer service.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Customer Experience: All completed purchase requisitions entered within one business day.
- Sustainability: All Order Acknowledgments reviewed and updated within one business day.
- Customer Experience: Back Order Scorecard not to exceed (50).
- Purchase Requisition Management (35%): Review Purchase Requisitions to ensure the required criteria is met and processed accurately. Collect, review, and update data from order acknowledgments. Print Purchase Orders twice a day and verify orders effectively e-mailed to intended recipients. Ensure all Purchase Order documents are correctly transferred and labeled in the electronic filing system.
- Communication (35%): Develop sound associations with vendors and the production floor to foster trusting relationships with our suppliers and internal partners. Actively work with the scheduling department to expedite material, maintain on-time deliveries, and expedite unique requirements. Work with the receiving department to minimize discrepancies and adjust purchase orders as needed to resolve issues.
- Support (25%): Update price lists and lead times as required. Collect and process data for new vendors. Diligently work through back-order reports to determine updated timelines and communicate findings to vested parties in a timely manner. Provide sound support for the Senior Professional in Supply Management by managing vendor information and assisting with maintaining ISO compliance
- Procurement Project Opportunities (5%): Actively investigate areas for improvement within the purchasing department by expanding knowledge base on product and processes. Assist the Senior Professional in Supply Management with specialized projects to enhance on-time delivery, favorable purchase price variance, and customer satisfaction.
Technical Skills:
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Suite, Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus.
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with six months to one year of experience in manufacturing and/or office environment.
- High School Diploma with 2-5 years’ experience in manufacturing and/or office environment.
