GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Under direct supervision, coordinates and expedites the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities. Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records:
- Review production schedules and related information and confer with department supervisors to determine material requirements, identify overdue materials, and track material.
- Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Arrange in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
- Calculate the material required to complete job orders, applying product and manufacturing processes knowledge.
- Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials.
- Attends Daily Production Meetings and remains highly visible on the manufacturing floor to ensure problems are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate material handlers and forklift drivers for assigned areas to achieve objectives with regard to delivery and safety.
- Communicate with appropriate cross-functional team members to ensure processes are followed and any problems are resolved in a timely manner.
- May move or transport materials from one department to another, manually or using material handling equipment.
- Ensures standard business practices are followed according to directions from order fulfillment and materials.
- Initiates, recommends, and provides solutions through appropriate channels and verifies implementation.
- Creates, maintains, and reports needed data, documentation, and paperwork.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains a safe and productive work environment by ensuring the work area is clear of tools, brooms, debris, and other items that may present a hazard.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
- High School Diploma/Equivalent required.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Previous knowledge of ERP Systems required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Must be able to read, write, and receive instructions in English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout the day.
- Requires occasional lifting of objects less than 25 pounds as well as occasional lifting of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
- Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
- Requires use of protective clothing.
