What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reception Manager position at Club Fit?
Job Title: Reception Manager
Job Purpose: To provide supervisory leadership to the Reception and Pro Shop Departments. Overseeing the operations and cleanliness of the reception area, including managing a team of receptionists who will greet members and guests checking in and out, handle reservation confirmations, andprocess pro shop and service sales transactions. In addition to these core tasks, the manager will act as a point of contact for communication between members, staff and management.
Accomplishes Staff Results
- Managing a team of receptionists, including hiring, training, and scheduling staff, as well as providing guidance and support to ensure that they are providing excellent customer service
- Conducting timely performance evaluations and pay reviews as per Club Fit standards
- Maintaining updated Reception and Shop manuals
- Showing attention to detail in Understanding and supporting all club & program policies
Manages Department Strategy and Planning
- Understanding the finances of the department by properly utilizing sales analysis, income statements, MAS90 and various other reports.
- Reviewing the budget and business plan goals and developing fluid plans to ensure they are met
- Managing the budget to ensure all expenses are kept within budget targets
- Overseeing the sales and service offerings at the health club's pro shop, including managing inventory, processing payments, and providing information to guests about products and services
- Keeping all financial information confidential
Contributes to Team Effort
- Ensuring proper desk and shop coverage at all times and filling in when needed
- Providing technical support for the health club's apps and other tools
- Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the health club's reception area, as well as other general club areas.
- Handling any complaints or issues that may arise, and working to resolve them in a timely and professional manner
- Providing information to guests about the health club's facilities, services, and policies, and answering any questions they may have
- Working closely with other departments within the health club, such as the fitness and wellness teams, to ensure that guests have a positive experience and to address any issues that may arise
- Being an active member of the Manager on Duty program assuring that the members are certain that we care about their well being
- Accomplishing related results as necessary
Maintains Professional and Technical Knowledge
- Attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and literature, establishing personal networks within the health-club industry demonstrating a commitment to embracing the neighborhood
- Attending training sessions with HR
Job Requirements
Ability to:
- Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Lift 10 lbs
- Understand and communicate both verbally and written in English

- Think independently and suggest effective solutions to potential challenges
- Work a flexible schedule as required by business needs
- Understand and comply with all company safety policies and their requirements
